Hi, I’m Hilary. I am a Nurse Practitioner Psychotherapist. I have been a nurse for over
20 years and graduated in 2014 as a Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in remote
northern communities, critical care and more recently palliative and grief care. I hold a
Master of Nursing degree and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts – Thanatology.
Thanatology is the study of death, loss and grief. Often our grief is connected deeply to
our identity, our family of origin and our relationships. When we experience loss of any
kind, all these areas can be affected.
I bring a passionate and unique approach to my practice as no one person experiences
grief and loss in the same way. I am passionate about helping you companion your grief
and navigate its complexities using creative and individualised approaches to care.
Grief cannot be rushed or silenced despite society telling us otherwise, together we will
work through your grief at the pace you need.
We will use various techniques to create a space that invites your grief to be heard so it can be tended to. Using creative modalities like art, writing, walk therapy and play therapy we
will work through your personal loss experience. I believe that even in our deepest grief
and pain we can find hope.
I work mainly with those experiencing traumatic loss, healthcare trauma/loss,
disenfranchised grief, anticipatory grief, sanctuary trauma, pet loss and death loss. I
mainly work with those in healthcare or first responders as well as adults and
adolescents. As a grief and loss therapist it is a deep honour to walk alongside you.

Hi there, I’m Jenn! It’s nice to meet you. I’ve just joined the MCC team as a Student Therapist and I’m thrilled to be here. Here’s a bit about me. I’ve been in a helping profession for 18+ years, working in various capacities in the mental health field. I’ve worked as a nurse focusing on child and adolescent mental health using a family systems framework. I believe that as we work with children we have to look at the whole family system and figure out how to change the dynamics within the family unit to ensure that everyone has the skills and tools to manage challenges as they arise.
I utilise a family systems approach, working with developmental and complex trauma, substance misuse, and community-driven social advocacy. I love working with neurodivergent individuals and use a strengths based approach as we embrace our autonomy and use of self-efficacy skills. I believe in a client-focused approach as we work towards embracing and becoming our authentic selves.
I love to be creative with my clients as we figure out what works best for you. If you don’t think or operate within a box, that’s great because neither do I! I think that’s one of the big reasons why I love working with kids and teens. We always have to get creative to figure out what works best for each of them, their brains, and how they operate in the world. If you think that you, your kid, or your teen would be a good fit feel free to book a consultation!

Hey! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Julie, a Registered Psychotherapist and Approved Supervisor with the CRPO. So here is a bit about me. I’ve been in the mental health field for 15+ years, and a therapist for 10 years. I specialise in trauma as I see so much trauma impacting people’s daily lives and increasing individuals anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, etc. etc. I figure if we can deal with things at the root issue then the rest of the challenges start to dissipate.
I’ve worked with many populations over the years, though I specialise in first responders, veterans and military, and survivors of exploitation, religious trauma and cult abuse. I have worked with personality disorders, bipolar, self-harm, suicidal behaviours, as well as anxiety, depression and performance challenges. I strongly believe that we as humans need holistic healing to be able to reach our full potential, so I utilise a holistic approach that is catered to each client’s specific needs.
I love to be creative with my clients and their treatment plans, I use various therapeutic approaches to facilitate a more holistic and client-centred approach to working through your challenges. I am very outgoing and I can help others immediately feel comfortable and at ease. I very intentionally create a safe, compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment so you can feel free to be yourself.
One of the ways that I love to create client centred approaches is by offering EMDR Intensives and EMDR Intensive Retreats. I have found that they can be so powerful in people’s healing as you can intensively work through a lot of content in a short period of time without the feeling of it lagging on over weeks, months or even years. This can help prevent those experiences or negative beliefs from becoming even more compounded through different situations that arise. If you’re interested in learning more check out our EMDR page or reach out for a consultation, by clicking below.
Some of the other things that I do is supervise other therapists who are pursuing their registration with the CRPO, or certification with EMDRIA. I provide performance and professional development coaching for executives and therapists - if you’re interested in that please check out The No BS Therapist. Lastly, I have worked with and currently work with non-profit organisations as well as corporate companies focusing on communication, psychological assessment, curriculum development, training, consulting, and equipping staff and team members. I develop and deliver customised training modules for teams that play to their strengths and encourages them to grow and develop.

Hello, I’m Dan! I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a graduate at Yorkville University. Before my time at Yorkville University, I completed my undergraduate studies at Ontario Tech, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors (B.A Hons) in Forensic Psychology and minored in Legal Studies. Between my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I attended Durham College to obtain a post-graduate certificate in Victimology. Over the past decade, I’ve been deeply involved in the mental health field, initially focusing on teenagers and young adults, and gradually expanding my practice to include adults, couples, trauma therapy (EMDR), first responders, and families.
While working towards becoming a Registered Psychotherapist, I developed a keen interest in law enforcement and have proudly served my local community as a police constable for the last seven years. This experience has provided me with valuable insights into dealing with complex trauma, mental health issues, and the importance of maintaining balanced mental well-being.
In my work within the mental health field, my primary focus is establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, ensuring they feel safe, heard, and validated. Many individuals carry historical pains and experiences that can make it challenging to open up and be vulnerable with another person. To foster a secure environment, I adopt a client-focused approach built on active listening and a keen awareness of non-verbal cues.
Beyond my professional life, I am a devoted family man who cherishes spending quality time with my wife, two young children, and our family dog. Whenever I have a spare moment, you can often find me on the golf course, attempting to refine my swing, or enjoying the serene beauty of a cottage getaway.
